Michelle Johnson is a 1997 graduate of West Virginia University College of law. She has almost 11 years experience in federal district, state circuit, and magistrate courts in numerous bench trials, jury trials, and before Administrative Law Judges. Ms. Johnson has a vast amount of experience in cases dealing with auto accidents, premise liability, wrongful death, intentional acts, mandolitis, product liability, nursing home negligence and medical malpractice. She also has experience in defective construction, health and disability insurance litigation, bad faith, multiple insurance issues, negligent burial, ownership issues and employment disputes. Her range of experience also includes Social Security disability, corporate law and collections, bankruptcy, wills, abuse and neglect as well as criminal defense.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Johnson has been a Registered Nurse for over twenty two years with over twelve years of extensive nursing experience dealing with victims of spinal injuries and other surgeries. She has worked as a liaison with physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, family members and patients to facilitate local patient care. In her nursing career, she worked primarily in the areas of trauma, intensive care, orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiac care, medical surgical nursing and has also practiced in nursing homes and home health.
Ms. Johnson obtained her nursing degree from West Virginia Northern and a Bachelors of Business Management and Administration from Tampa College in Tampa, FL. She obtained a Doctorate Degree in Law from the West Virginia University College of Law in Morgantown, WV. Michelle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tampa College and with Honors from West Virginia Northern. She was always on the Dean's List throughout her undergraduate career. Michelle has been a long time member of the American Association for Justice and West Virginia Association for Justice.
Michelle has a proven tract record of success. She has won either through settlement or jury verdict approximately 98% of the many personal injury cases she has handled. Her record of satisfied clients, large settlements, and positive outcomes stands for itself.
Ms. Johnson spent almost nine years practicing law in Beckley, WV prior to moving to the greater Charleston area. Michelle cares about the community and has a long history of volunteering. Michelle was a board member of Hospice and Theater West Virginia for three years. She also served as a volunteer Registered Nurse for the Free Clinic and served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Raleigh County Bar Association. Michelle is currently a member of the Methodist Church, ACLU and ASPCA and the Dunbar Woman's Club.
